Bjarne Graven Larsen, Executive Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Ontario Teachers') is pleased to announce the following promotions: Gillian Brown to Managing Director, Credit, Insurance Linked Securities and Equity Products; Tanya Carmichael to Managing Director, Global Funds; and Charles Thomazi to Managing Director, Infrastructure, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Ms. Brown joined Ontario Teachers' in 1995 and has more than 20 years of industry experience in equity and derivatives investment management. Ms. Brown is responsible for the Fund's credit, insurance linked securities and equity indexing portfolios. She holds a B.Comm from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder. Ms. Brown reports to Ziad Hindo, Senior Managing Director, Capital Markets.
Ms. Carmichael joined Ontario Teachers' in 2006 and leads the Global Funds team. She has extensive experience in private equity fund investing and represents Ontario Teachers' on numerous limited partner advisory committees. Ms. Carmichael is Chair of the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) Board of Directors and has served on the Private Equity Steering Committee of the Principles of Responsible Investment. She holds a BA (Honours) from Queen's University, an LLB from Western University, and the ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Ms. Carmichael reports to Jane Rowe, Senior Managing Director, Private Capital.
Mr. Thomazi joined Ontario Teachers' in 1995 and was one of the founding members of the infrastructure team in 2001. He leads Ontario Teachers' Infrastructure team in London, U.K., and is responsible for identifying, executing and managing infrastructure assets. Mr. Thomazi holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Actuarial Science from Western University. He is a CFA charterholder and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Thomazi reports to Andrew Claerhout, Senior Managing Director, Infrastructure & Natural Resources, and Jo Taylor, Senior Managing Director, International.
