In recognition of its exemplary and enduring contributions to venture capital, buyout and related private equity disciplines, the editors of the Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst have selected Teachers' Private Capital (TPC) to join The Private Equity Hall of Fame.

Jane Rowe, Senior Vice-President, TPC, will receive the award at the induction ceremony to be held at the 18th annual Private Equity Analyst Conference on September 27 in New York.

Dow Jones selected TPC for its distinguished and consistent track record in investing in private equity. Specifically, the editors cited TPC for not only its backing of private equity firms, but its innovative approach to doing direct investing. Teachers' willingness to buy companies rather than just invest in funds is a strategy that other Limited Partners have emulated or are likely to emulate.

TPC will join the Hall of Fame in the Limited Partner Category. The other 2011 inductees are Leonard Green & Partners (Buyout/Private Equity Category) and Intel Capital (Venture Capital Category).

2011 marks the 20th anniversary of direct investing by Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. A private placement program initiated in 1991 to improve efficiency of returns and diversify the portfolio has evolved to encompass TPC, Infrastructure, Long-Term Equities and Relationship investments.

Teachers' Private Capital is one of the world's largest private equity investors and a department of the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. With $107.5 billion in net assets as of December 31, 2010, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan is the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada. It is an independent corporation responsible for investing the fund and administering the pensions of Ontario's 295,000 active and retired teachers. For more information, visit www.otpp.com.
