Olivia Steedman

Olivia Steedman leads two teams within Ontario Teachers' Infrastructure and Natural Resources Group:

  1. The Greenfield and Renewables Group, which has a global mandate to invest in early stage (i.e. in development or under construction) infrastructure assets including assets that are a fundamental part of the transition to a low carbon economy.
  2. The Value Creation and Analytics team which is responsible for working with each of INR's regional and sector teams and with portfolio company management to deliver best practices and value enhancements in each phase of a deal. The VCA Team is also responsible for the analysis that supports INR's portfolio construction decisions.

Olivia has been involved in a number of acquisitions and has served on a number of portfolio company boards across the portfolio since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2002. Before joining, she was an Assistant Vice-President in the project finance and privatization group at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also practiced civil engineering at Marshall Macklin Monaghan.

A Professional Engineer and Chartered Professional Accountant, Olivia earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Queen's University and has ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Chris Ireland

Chris Ireland is responsible for leading the Greenfield & Renewables investment mandate for Ontario Teachers' Infrastructure team.  Chris was a lead on the acquisition of Cubico Sustainable Investments and serves as a board member and chair of its Investment Committee. He also led our investments into Anbaric Development Partners and STEM, Inc., which were both innovative ways to invest in and support the renewables build-out. 

Chris also serves on the boards of BluEarth Renewables and Anbaric Development Partners, and has been a board member on seven other portfolio companies. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Chris worked in investment banking, developed power plants, and was an engineer for a large EPC company.

Chris earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Atmospheric Fluid Mechanics, both from the University of Waterloo.  He also has an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Professional Engineer.

Marc Hulin

Marc Hulin

  • Senior Principal, Greenfield Investments & Renewables

Marc Hulin  joined the Greenfield & Renewables team in 2017.  Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', he was a member of the Senior Management Team at SNC-Lavalin, one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world and held roles in Canada, Latin America and Europe. At SNC-Lavalin, Marc was in charge of the development and execution of investment opportunities globally in the infrastructure, power and mining sectors including public-private partnerships. Earlier in his career, he spent four years in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey and ABN Amro in Frankfurt and London.

Marc holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singapore, a Masters in Management from ISC Paris Business School and an MBA from the University of Georgia (Atlanta). He is a CFA charterholder and has completed the OTPP Private Investments Board of Directors Program at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.

Brad Leufkens

  • Senior Principal, Infrastructure & Natural Resources

Brad Leufkens has been involved in the energy and infrastructure sectors for over ten years and has significant experience structuring and executing investments globally. In his current role, Brad oversees Ontario Teachers' Greenfield & Renewables portfolio, which includes investments in sectors that are leading the transition to a lower carbon economy. He has played a leading role in the investments of several companies including Cubico Sustainable Investments, First Infrastructure Capital, Stem, Inc. and Trillium Storage. Brad currently serves on the boards of BluEarth Renewables, Anbaric Development Partners, and Trillium Storage.

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Brad worked in investment banking with the Royal Bank of Canada structuring infrastructure investments in Canada and originating sub investment grade credit in the U.S. Capital Markets.

Brad holds an Honours B.Sc. degree in Physics from the University of Guelph and is currently completing his MBA at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management.

Michael Franklin

Michael Franklin is a member of the Infrastructure team, covering Greenfield & Renewables.  Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2012 Michael has been involved in a number of investments including the acquisition of Chicago Skyway and the sale of Northern Star Generation. He has sat on the board of Chicago Skyway and is actively involved in BluEarth Renewables and Anbaric Development Partners. Prior to joining the Infrastructure team at Ontario Teachers', Michael worked in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets and corporate finance at PWC. 

Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, an MBA from McMaster University's School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.
