Chief Legal & Corporate Affairs Officer
Jeff Davis is the Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. He oversees the Enterprise Legal Services, Compliance, Global Investment Counsel, and Taxation groups, as well as leading the organization’s enterprise-wide Crisis Management efforts.
He has over 20 years of legal experience, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance across global markets. Since joining the organization in 2004, Jeff has led the legal team on countless transactions around the world. He also serves as a Board Member of Mitratech, an Ontario Teachers’ portfolio company. Earlier in his career, Jeff was the Senior Vice-President in Corporate and Legal Affairs at InsLogic Corp. and practiced as a Corporate Associate at Torys LLP.
Jeff’s contributions to the legal profession have been widely recognized. In 2009, he was named one of Lexpert’s Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40 and was a finalist in the Dealmaking category of the Canadian General Counsel Awards. He received the Chambers & Partners Outstanding Contribution to the Legal Profession award in 2018 and was named General Counsel of the Year by the Canadian General Counsel Awards in 2019. In 2025, Jeff was recognized as one of Chambers & Partners’ Global Market Leaders and included in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist: Canada edition.
In addition to his role at Ontario Teachers’, Jeff is an Advisory Board Member for Canadian Lawyer magazine and is actively involved with the International Bar Association, serving as a Commissioner for the IBA Professional Wellbeing Commission and as an Officer on the IBA Law Firm Management Committee Advisory Board. He has also led the Legal Leaders for Diversity and Inclusion non-profit organization for several years.
Jeff holds an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA from the University of Western Ontario.
