- Managing Director, Greenfield Investments and Renewables
Chris Ireland is responsible for leading the Greenfield & Renewables investment mandate for Ontario Teachers' Infrastructure team. Chris was a lead on the acquisition of Cubico Sustainable Investments and serves as a board member and chair of its Investment Committee. He also led our investments into Anbaric Development Partners and STEM, Inc., which were both innovative ways to invest in and support the renewables build-out.
Chris also serves on the board of Anbaric Development Partners, and has been a board member on seven other portfolio companies. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Chris worked in investment banking, developed power plants, and was an engineer for a large EPC company.
Chris earned a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Atmospheric Fluid Mechanics, both from the University of Waterloo. He also has an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He completed ICD education at the University of Toronto and is a Professional Engineer.

Michael Franklin is a member of the Infrastructure team, covering Greenfield & Renewables. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2012 Michael has been involved in a number of investments including the acquisition of Chicago Skyway and oversight of Northern Star Generation, InterGen and BluEarth Renewables. He has sat on the board of Chicago Skyway and is actively involved in Anbaric Development Partners. Prior to joining the Infrastructure team at Ontario Teachers', Michael worked in investment banking at BMO Capital Markets and corporate finance at PWC.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, an MBA from McMaster University's School of Business and is a CFA charterholder.

Marc Hulin joined the Greenfield & Renewables team in 2017. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', he was a member of the Senior Management Team at SNC-Lavalin, one of the leading engineering and construction groups in the world and held roles in Canada, Latin America and Europe. At SNC-Lavalin, Marc was in charge of the development and execution of investment opportunities globally in the infrastructure, power and mining sectors including public-private partnerships. Earlier in his career, he spent four years in investment banking at Houlihan Lokey and ABN Amro in Frankfurt and London.
Marc holds an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau and Singapore, a Masters in Management from ISC Paris Business School and an MBA from the University of Georgia (Atlanta). He is a CFA charterholder and has completed the OTPP Private Investments Board of Directors Program at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.
James Hanson joined Ontario Teachers’ in 2015. Since joining he has evaluated a number of investment opportunities and was involved in the sale of minority interests in GCT Global Container Terminals. He is also currently involved in asset management related to Anbaric Development Partners. Prior to joining, James worked in investment banking at Macquarie Capital Markets in Calgary, focusing on M&A and ECM.
James is a CFA charterholder and earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
Amanjol Zhangeldin joined Ontario Teachers' in 2018. Prior to joining, he worked in investment banking at Scotiabank and in equity research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Amanjol is currently involved with Ontario Teachers' investments in Esval and Essbio in Chile, as well as AustOn in Australia. He was also involved in the sale of Ontario Teachers' investment in InterGen, a company with power generation assets in the United Kingdom and Australia.
Amanjol holds a B.A.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.
