Here are some key trends from what members have told us in 2025.

A majority of members said they’re moderately to extremely satisfied with our service

Throughout 2025, members gave us high service satisfaction scores. While we’re glad to hear that members are generally pleased with our service, our work to meet member needs is an ongoing journey.

71% of all members have registered for an online account, with over 911,000 sign-ins throughout 2025.

Using your feedback, we strive to continuously improve our service channels and the overall member experience to meet members where they are most — online. Drawing on real-time data and insights, we aim to understand the evolving needs of our members from early in their careers into retirement. This allows us to provide guidance and support tailored to each stage of their pension journey. We’re committed to serving members when and where they need it most, so they can make informed decisions with confidence.

“I am retiring in about two years. I have been grateful to receive preparation emails to inform me of what I need to do.”

Exploring opportunities to inform members earlier

We see that the less engaged members are with us, the less they know about their plan benefits. As we gained the ability to reach more members digitally, we expanded our communications to working members, including those who hadn’t previously engaged with the plan, to help them understand the value of their pension earlier in their careers. We now enroll early- to mid-career members for digital communications where permitted.

We understand that an Ontario Teachers’ pension may be a member’s most valuable financial asset. By providing timely education, we can empower members to make informed decisions with confidence and understand the value of their defined benefits well before they reach retirement.

"I definitely need more education and information about Ontario Teachers’ and my pension. I’m grateful to have a pension and to have someone looking out for me in that area.”

Members value retirement security as much as we do

We asked members to rank our mission and strategies in order of importance. Regardless of age group, a majority of members continue to rank retirement security as their top priority. This consistent ranking illustrates how our members’ priorities align with ours – to deliver on the pension promise to members.

Ontario Teachers' missions and strategies ranked in order of importance to members

  • 1. Ability to provide long-term retirement security
  • 2. Investment performance
  • 3. Educating members to make timely, informed decisions
  • 4. Integration of significant environmental & social risk factors to drive returns

We’ll continue to rely on our strengths—such as our scale, strategic investing and long-term investing approach—to position the plan well into the future. Our commitment to executing on our strategies and building off this strong foundation is unwavering.

Our mission to deliver retirement security

Our mission hasn’t changed: to deliver outstanding service and retirement security for our members. We understand that an Ontario Teachers’ pension contributes to long-term financial security. Rest assured, we’re focused on keeping the plan fully funded for our members, today and into the future.

We welcomed over 7,900 new members and 4,900 retirees in 2025.
