Ontario Teachers’ receives Best Workplace Culture Award

TORONTO -- Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (Ontario Teachers’) is pleased to announce that it has received the Ultimate Software Silver Award for Best Workplace Culture at the 2020 Canadian HR Awards. The organization was one of eleven finalists.

The award recognizes the character and personality of an organization, what makes it unique and its values, traditions, beliefs, interactions, behaviours and attitudes. It also looks at key internal practices, policies and communication tools and how culture positively impacts recruitment, retention and overall employee engagement.

“There’s something special about our culture – the engagement and camaraderie between teams is truly infectious, now more than ever,” says Beth Tyndall, Chief People Officer at Ontario Teachers’. “Seeing our people come together to support one another during this uncertain time has really shined a spotlight on how unique our culture really is here at Ontario Teachers’.”

Winners of the 2020 Canadian HR Awards were announced during a live virtual broadcast on September 16.

“I am incredibly proud of our entire team. Our strong culture has allowed us to remain resilient during this extraordinary period in our history,” says Jo Taylor, President & CEO at Ontario Teachers. “Thanks to everyone who has played a role in shaping our culture over the past several years. This award is a testament to all your hard work.”

In 2019, Ontario Teachers’ People & Culture team received the Accompass Award for Canadian HR Team of the Year.
