Investing responsibly for members
Teachers’ has always taken a responsible approach to investing on behalf of our members. While responsible investing is an evolving concept, with different interpretations that can be confusing, for us it boils down to this:
  • We search the world for the best investment opportunities appropriate for a mature pension plan like Teachers’.
  • We consider environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities that could affect overall corporate performance and have a material impact on investment value.
We believe profitable companies that are well run, respect the environment, and respect human and labour rights are good candidates for long-term investments.
