Teachers’ announces new Senior Vice-President, Member Services

Replacement comes from within as Teachers' continues to develop internal talent

Ron Mock, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Teachers'), today announced that Tracy Abel has been promoted to Senior Vice-President, Member Services, effective immediately.   She reports to Mr. Mock and replaces Rosemarie McClean, who was promoted to Chief Operations Officer (COO) on Nov. 1, 2014.

Ms. Abel has risen through the ranks in the Member Services team since joining Teachers' in 1987. She most recently held the role of Vice-President, Client Services.  As Senior Vice-President, Ms. Abel is responsible for overseeing the personalized service to Ontario's 307,000 working and retired members as well as for the division's Actuarial, Tax and Accounts Receivable Services; Employer Information Services and Strategic Initiatives teams.

During her tenure at Teachers', Ms. Abel has been a key reason that Teachers' Member Services group ranked first among its peer group and number one internationally for exceptional pension service for three consecutive years, according to CEM Benchmarking. She was also instrumental in developing solutions that better serve the needs of our members at all stages of their careers or retirement through a recent realignment of the Client Service department.

Ms. Abel holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto and a BA (Hons.) in Sociology from York University.
