- Senior Managing Director, Public Equities
Nicole Musicco is responsible for Ontario Teachers' Public Equities portfolio, incorporating internally managed portfolios, the Relationship Investing team, corporate governance, and external managers used primarily to broaden geographic scope.
Nicole was Ontario Teachers' first Managing Director of the Hong Kong office where she managed the full cycle of opportunity in origination, analysis, value creation and execution of investment activities in Asia Pacific on behalf of the fund. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, she oversaw all of Private Capital's externally managed private equity and venture capital fund positions, and emerging market co-investment and underwriting activities. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2002, Nicole has held positions of increasing responsibility on the Private Equity team, making Direct and Fund investments globally. Nicole is a member of the OTPP global investment committee.
Nicole graduated from the HBA and MBA programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and from the Bachelor of Science Kinesiology program at the University of Western Ontario.
- Managing Director, Global Active Equities
Leslie Lefebvre leads a team of sector experts and is responsible for the fund's global active equities strategies and investments within the Public Equities portfolio. She has held progressively more senior positions since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2000.
Ms. Lefebvre previously worked in equity research at Scotia Capital Markets and TD Securities. She earned an Honours B.Comm. from the University of Windsor and is a CFA charterholder.
- Managing Director, Relationship Investing
Ken Manget leads the Relationship Investing Group, which has teams in Toronto, Hong Kong and London. The Relationship Investing portfolio is focused on large-scale strategic investments in pre-IPO and public companies. Ken joined Teachers' in 2014 as Vice-President, Infrastructure. He has more than 30 years of experience in the investment field and previously worked at Desjardins Capital Markets, where he was Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking. Before that, he was Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets and Head of Income Funds for BMO Capital Markets. In addition to equity capital markets, Ken has experience in fixed income, derivatives, securitization and infrastructure, and has worked for affiliates of Bank of America and Citi in New York and London.
Ken holds an MBA from Harvard University and a B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Toronto.
- Director, Global Equity Managers
Ahren Estabrooks is responsible for managing Ontario Teachers' external global equity managers, including overseeing emerging market managers in regions such as China, India, Russia and Brazil. He leads a team responsible for identifying managers and allocating capital to a diversified portfolio of predominantly long-only, bottom-up, equity managers. The Global Equity Managers (GEM) program is a consistent contributor of value add and is an integral source of information and ideas used across our Public Equities team. Using his more than 10 years of industry experience, Ahren has developed this program into an important pillar of risk taking within Public Equities with a strong focus on risk management. Prior to this role, Ahren worked in the organization's Investment Finance group.
Ahren holds a Masters of Arts, Economics from York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
- Director, Thematic & Quantitative Equities
Oleg Mogyl'nyy leads the Portfolio Strategy team of the Public Equities department at Ontario Teachers'. In 2003, he joined Ontario Teachers' Tactical Asset Allocation team where he managed systematic portfolios in equities, fixed income, commodities, foreign exchange and volatility.
Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Oleg was employed by the World Bank and Southern Commerce Bank in Ukraine.
Oleg has an MBA degree from McGill University and an MA in Economics degree from Kyiv School of Economics. Oleg is a CFA charterholder.
- Senior Principal, Corporate Governance
Paul Schneider joined Public Equities in 2010, and has close to 15 years of corporate governance experience. He represents Ontario Teachers' corporate governance interests globally with responsibility for policy development, proxy voting and the public company governance engagement program.
Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Paul worked at the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, helping establish the organization as a respected and influential voice in corporate governance.
Paul holds degrees from the University of Toronto (MBA), Western University (BEd) and Wilfrid Laurier University (Honours BBA) and also holds the ICD.D designation.
