- Senior Managing Director, Public Equities
Nicole Musicco is responsible for Ontario Teachers' Public Equities department, incorporating internally managed portfolios, the Relationship Investing team, Corporate Governance, Quantitative and Thematic Equity, and External Managers used primarily to broaden geographic scope.
Nicole was Ontario Teachers' first Managing Director of the Hong Kong office where she managed the full cycle of opportunity in origination, analysis, value creation and execution of investment activities in Asia-Pacific on behalf of the fund. Prior to moving to Hong Kong, she oversaw all of Private Capital's externally managed private equity and venture capital fund positions, and emerging market co-investment and underwriting activities. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2002, Nicole has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility, making Direct and Fund investments globally, including the creation of the Healthcare team within Private Capital, and kick-starting Ontario Teachers' global Disruptive Tech investment strategy. Nicole is a member of Ontario Teachers' global Investments Executive Team.
Nicole graduated from the HBA and MBA programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and from the Bachelor of Science Kinesiology program at Western University.
- Managing Director, Global Active Equities
Leslie Lefebvre leads a team of sector experts and manages a global portfolio of listed stocks in a long/short strategy within Ontario Teachers' Public Equities portfolio. Leslie also participates in various firm-wide investment and policy decisions.
Prior to this, Leslie spent 10 years as an energy equities analyst for two leading brokerage firms in Toronto. She joined Ontario Teachers' in 2000 to manage the energy and retail sectors, then became Global Research Director, before taking her current role in 2007.
Leslie is a graduate of the University of Windsor (B.Comm.) and is a CFA charterholder.
- Managing Director, Relationship Investing
Ken Manget is the Global Head of Ontario Teachers' Relationship Investing group, which has teams in Toronto, Hong Kong and London. The Relationship Investing strategy is focused on large-scale minority investments in pre-IPO and public companies.
Ken joined the organization in 2014 as Vice-President, Infrastructure. He has more than 30 years of experience in the investment field and previously worked at Desjardins Capital Markets, where he was Head of Investment Banking. Before that, he was Managing Director of Equity Capital Markets and Head of Income Funds for BMO Capital Markets. In addition to equity capital markets, Ken has experience in fixed income, derivatives, securitization and infrastructure, and has worked for bulge bracket financial institutions in New York and London.
Ken holds an MBA from Harvard University and a B.Sc. (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Toronto.
- Director, Global Equity Managers
Ahren Estabrooks is responsible for managing Ontario Teachers' external global equity managers, including overseeing emerging market managers in regions such as China, India, Russia and Brazil. He leads a team responsible for identifying managers and allocating capital to a diversified portfolio of predominantly long-only, bottom-up, equity managers.
Ahren joined Ontario Teachers' in 1998 and previously worked in the organization's Investment Finance group.
Ahren holds a Masters of Arts, Economics from York University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He is also a CFA charterholder.
- Director, Thematic & Quantitative Equities
Oleg Mogyl'nyy leads the Thematic and Quantitative Equity teams, responsible for top-down equity strategies, systematic equity long/short portfolios and the development of investment data science insights within the Public Equities department.
Oleg joined Ontario Teachers' in 2003 as an analyst on the Tactical Asset Allocation team of Research and Economics. In early 2008 Oleg helped build the Global Systematic Investing team, which researched and developed systematic strategies across liquid assets and invested in cross asset risk premia portfolios. He was a key member of the team until joining Public Equities in 2014.
Oleg has an MBA degree from McGill University and an MA in Economics degree from Kyiv School of Economics. Oleg is a CFA charterholder.
- Senior Principal, Corporate Governance
Paul Schneider joined Ontario Teachers' Public Equities team in 2010, and has close to 15 years of corporate governance experience. He represents the organization's corporate governance interests globally with responsibility for policy development, proxy voting and the public company governance engagement program.
Paul currently serves on the board of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN). Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', he worked at the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance, helping establish the organization as a respected and influential voice in corporate governance.
Paul holds degrees from the University of Toronto (MBA), Western University (BEd) and Wilfrid Laurier University (Honours BBA) and also has the ICD.D designation.
