Romeo Leemrijse leads Ontario Teachers' private equity transactions in the industrial products, energy & power sectors. He joined the organization in 2006 and was most recently Director, Consumer & Retail for Private Capital. Since joining Ontario Teachers' Romeo has worked on a number of significant transactions, including PODS, GFL Environmental, GNC, Serta Simmons Bedding, Shearers, Dematic, CSC, Aethon and Infiltrator. He currently sits on the boards of PODS, Serta Simmons Bedding, Hawkwood, EdgeMarc, Aspenleaf and CSC.

Romeo was previously a principal at EdgeStone Capital Partners, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing investments, as well as monitoring and providing strategic guidance to portfolio companies.

Romeo is a CFA charterholder and graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Russell Hammond

Russell Hammond joined Ontario Teachers' in 2006 with more than 10 years of investment banking and private equity experience. Prior to joining the organization, he worked in the investment banking division of Credit Suisse, as well as the investment banking and private equity departments of Merrill Lynch in Toronto and London, England.

At Ontario Teachers', Russell is responsible for investments in the Industrials and Business Services sectors and has been involved in several transactions in these areas. He currently sits on the boards of Aurora Plastics, The Azek Company, Cole-Parmer, Exal Group, Infiltrator Water Technologies and Mauser Packaging Solutions. Past investments include Alliance Laundry and Dematic.

Russell is a CFA charterholder and graduated as a Presidential Scholar with a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.

Zvi Orvitz

Zvi Orvitz joined Ontario Teachers' in 2008 and is responsible for leading our energy sector investment activities in Private Capital, including transaction sourcing and execution, as well as the ongoing management of the firm's direct private equity investments. Zvi's skillset is focused on private investments and M&A, capital markets, due diligence, business development, strategy and portfolio management, with deep energy sector expertise. He currently serves on the boards of Aethon United, Chisolm Energy, Canbriam Energy, Edgemarc Energy, Aspenleaf Energy and Impark.

Previously, Zvi worked in investment banking at Citigroup in New York and Toronto supporting capital markets, M&A and corporate strategic initiatives.

Zvi earned an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and is a CFA charterholder.

Blake Sumler

Blake joined Ontario Teachers' in 2013 and has worked in private equity for more than 15 years. Previously, Blake was a Senior Vice President at Callisto Capital, a mid-market Toronto-based private equity firm focusing on buyouts and growth capital investments in Canada. Blake's varied work experience includes hedge fund investing at a Toronto-based firm, equity research at RBC Dominion Securities and debt syndication at Newcourt Capital.

At Ontario Teachers', Blake focuses primarily on business services within the Industrial Products, Energy & Power Group. He currently sits on the boards of PODS and GFL Environmental Inc.

Blake is a CPA and a CFA charterholder. He holds a BA (Chartered Accounting) and a Master of Accounting from the University of Waterloo. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Ashfaq Qadri

Ashfaq Qadri

Ashfaq Qadri joined Ontario Teachers' in 2016 with more than a decade of experience in private equity and investment banking. His role includes execution and portfolio management responsibilities for direct private equity investments in the industrials and energy sectors. Ashfaq is currently involved with Ontario Teachers' investments in The AZEK Company, Hawkwood Energy and Kanata Energy Group, and serves on the board of Kanata Energy Group.

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Ashfaq was a Vice President at Morgan Stanley Private Equity, with roles based in both New York and London. He previously also worked in Morgan Stanley's Investment Banking division in New York.

Ashfaq received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College and graduated with a double major in Computer Science and Economics.

Robin Shah

Robin Shah joined Ontario Teachers' in 2012 and is focused on direct private equity investments in the industrials and business services sector. Since joining the organization he has worked on a number of investments, including Aurora Plastics, Infiltrator Water Technologies, Mauser Packaging Solutions, Cole Parmer, CSC Serviceworks, EXAL Group, and Alliance Laundry. Robin serves on the boards of Aurora Plastics, Infiltrator Water Technologies and Mauser Packaging Solutions.

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers, Robin was a private equity associate at Birch Hill Equity Partners and an M&A analyst at Scotia Capital. He has also worked in the corporate strategy group of Rogers Communications and digital media solutions group of Expedia.

Robin holds a BBA (with distinction) from the Schulich School of Business at York University and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jules Koifman

Jules Koifman joined Ontario Teachers' in 2015. Previously, he was an Investment Banking Analyst at RBC Capital Markets where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and follow-on capital raises.

Jules holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University and is a CFA charterholder.

Aaron Manz

Aaron Manz joined Ontario Teachers' in 2012. He has previously worked at the Boston Consulting Group in Toronto as well as at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Calgary.

Aaron is a CFA charterholder and earned a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) from the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary.

Maxim Tcherner joined Ontario Teachers' in 2014 and has been involved in a number of transactions including the acquisition of CSC ServiceWorks, Infiltrator Water Technologies, Mauser Packaging Solutions, GFL Environmental, and the sale of Alliance Laundry.

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Maxim worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse providing M&A advisory and financing services across a number of industries.

Maxim holds an Honours Business Administration degree (with Distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.

Mustafa Beg-Mohamed

Mustafa Beg-Mohamed joined Private Capital in 2015. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Mustafa worked in investment banking at TD Securities and in the assurance group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

A Chartered Accountant, Mustafa holds an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics degree from the University of Waterloo and an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Sophia Kim joined Private Capital in 2018. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', she was an associate at HSBC Global Banking & Markets and before that she worked in a private equity role at Highland Creek Partners.

Shirley Lin joined Private Capital in 2018. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Shirley worked in investment banking at Scotia Capital and in the corporate finance group at Deloitte.
