- Senior Managing Director, Infrastructure & Natural Resources
Dale Burgess leads the Infrastructure and Natural Resources department and is responsible for overseeing infrastructure acquisitions and asset management globally. He was previously head of the Infrastructure & Natural Resources team for Latin America where he oversaw portfolio companies as well as business development and origination in target countries across the LATAM region.
Dale joined Ontario Teachers' in 1996 and has deep experience in the utilities, power and transportation sectors. He worked on the acquisition of Cubico Sustainable Investments and Autopista Arco Norte and currently serves on the board of Saesa. Dale holds a BA (Accounting) from the University of Waterloo. He is a Chartered Accountant, a CFA Charterholder and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
- Director, Natural Resources
Thierry Bédard is responsible for investments in the agricultural and forestry sectors. He led the acquisition of Woodspur Farms, a vertically-integrated producer of dates in the US, and Aroona Farms, an almond grower in Australia. He was also involved in the acquisition of a working interest in the Weyburn oil field in 2012. Thierry joined Ontario Teachers' in 2001 after spending two years as an investment consultant at Mercer. Since then, he has held a number of roles at the Plan. Prior to joining the Natural Resources group in 2013, he was part of the Tactical Asset Allocation team where he managed the fund's commodity portfolio.
Thierry earned a B.Sc. in Actuarial Science from Université Laval and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ottawa. He is a CFA charterholder and has completed the OTPP Private Investments Board of Directors Program at the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.

Christopher Metrakos joined Ontario Teachers' in 2014 and is focused primarily on the energy sector. Before joining Ontario Teachers' he spent approximately ten years with a leading unregulated energy company, investing in energy and retail customer businesses across North America and internationally. Chris started his professional career in corporate finance, and previously held roles at two global investment banking firms in Toronto and London.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Economics, from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder. He also has an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
- Managing Director, Greenfield Investments & Value Creation
Olivia Steedman leads the Greenfield and Renewables team and the Value Creation and Analytics team. The Greenfield and Renewables team is focused on investing in early stage (i.e. in development or under construction) infrastructure assets as well as renewables assets across the globe. The team currently invests in two renewables platforms: Cubcio and BluEarth. The Value Creation and Analytics (VCA) team is responsible for working with each of INR's regional and sector teams and with portfolio company management to deliver best practices and value enhancements in each phase of a deal. The VCA team is also responsible for the analysis that supports INR's portfolio construction decisions.
Olivia has been involved in a number of acquisitions and has served on a number of boards across the portfolio since joining Ontario Teachers' in 2002. Before joining Ontario Teachers', she was an Assistant Vice-President in the project finance and privatization group at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She also practiced civil engineering at Marshall Macklin Monaghan.
A Professional Engineer and Chartered Accountant, Olivia earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Queen's University and has an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
- Director, Greenfield Investments and Renewables
Chris Ireland has worked with several portfolio companies in his years at Ontario Teachers'. He was instrumental in the acquisition of Cubico Sustainable Investments and serves as a board member and chair of its Investment Committee. Chris also serves on the boards of Cubico, BluEarth Renewables, and InterGen, and has been a board member on six other portfolio companies. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Chris was an investment banker, a project developer for fossil and renewable power projects, and a power and petrochemical plant engineer for a large EPC company.
A Professional Engineer, Chris earned a B.A.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.A.Sc. in Atmospheric Fluid Mechanics both from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a Professional Engineer.
- Director, Value Creation and Analytics
Maria Morsillo is a member of Ontario Teachers' Value Creation & Analytics team which has a broad mandate to assist in value creation activities across the Infrastructure & Natural Resources portfolio. Maria currently sits on the boards of Cubico Sustainable Investments and Koole Terminals. She has previously held numerous board positions such as at Birmingham Airport, GCT Global Container Terminals, Saesa and Express Pipeline. Before joining Ontario Teachers' in 2006, Maria was a Corporate Development Manager at Canadian National Railway and worked at CH2M Hill, a large environmental engineering consulting firm.
Maria earned a B.Sc. (Honours, Chemical Physics) from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Queen's University. She has an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
- Managing Director, North America and Asia-Pacific
Greg Grant leads Ontario Teachers' North America and Asia-Pacific infrastructure team, with responsibility for identifying, executing and managing infrastructure assets. Greg worked on the acquisition of the Chicago Skyway, the Sydney Desalination Plant, Brussels Airport and Copenhagen Airports. He currently serves on the boards of GCT Global Container Terminals, InterGen and Sydney Desalination Plant. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers' in 2008, he worked in investment banking and corporate development for an independent power producer.
Greg earned a B.Comm. (Honours) from the University of Manitoba, and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University. He is a CFA charterholder.
- Managing Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) (London)
Charles Thomazi leads the Europe, Middle East and Africa Infrastructure team, with responsibility for identifying, executing and managing infrastructure assets. He has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services sector and has been actively involved in infrastructure since 2001. Charles has worked across many sectors, including leading the acquisition of Ontario Teachers' airport assets, High Speed 1 and Koole Terminals and Westerleigh.
Charles currently serves on the boards of Brussels Airport, Copenhagen Airports and Westerleigh. He joined Ontario Teachers' Finance Group in 1995, then moved to the Research and Economics Group before becoming a founding member of Ontario Teachers' Infrastructure Group in 2001. Prior to joining Ontario Teachers', Charles worked as an Actuarial Specialist at Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson).
Charles holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Actuarial Science from Western University. He is a CFA charterholder and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
