Ziad leads all aspects of Ontario Teachers' investment activities with oversight of the overall Investment Division. He is responsible for the global portfolio and strategy for all aspects Ontario Teachers' investment activities, including the real estate portfolio managed by wholly-owned subsidiary Cadillac Fairview, and its international offices in London and Hong Kong.

Ziad joined Ontario Teachers' in 2000, and has global experience in both public and private markets spanning multiple asset classes. He was most recently head of the Capital Markets group, a cross asset class, multi strategy platform that manages and enhances Ontario Teachers' policy portfolios while maximizing value add. His achievements during this time included the successful integration of two departments on the trading floor to execute a centralized trade strategy to support all of Ontario Teachers' investment groups.

Ziad earned a B.Sc. at the University of York, an M.Sc. from the University of Warwick, and is a CFA charterholder.

Gillian Brown

Gillian Brown

  • Managing Director, Credit, Insurance Linked Securities and Equity Products

Gillian Brown is responsible for the Equity, Credit and Insurance-Linked Securities investing teams within the Capital Market Group. Since joining Ontario Teachers' in 1995, Gillian has held progressively more senior roles; she was Director, Credit, Insurance Linked Securities, Equity Products in our Capital Markets team, and earlier, Director, Derivative Strategies and Trading within the Tactical Asset Allocation and Natural Resources department.

Gillian has more than 20 years of industry experience in equity and derivatives investment management. She holds a B.Comm. from McGill University and is a CFA charterholder.

Jason Chang

  • Managing Director, Fixed-Income. Currencies & Commodities (FICC)

Jason is responsible for leading Ontario Teachers' Fixed Income, Currency & Commodities team at the Fund.  The team is responsible for the overall Fund exposures to these asset classes and related active programs.

Since joining the Fund in 1995, Jason has held progressively more senior positions, most recently Vice-President, Fixed Income.  He holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA charterholder.

Kevin Duggan

  • Managing Director, Execution & Treasury

Kevin Duggan is responsible for the execution capabilities for all Capital Markets asset classes as well as oversight for the Treasury Division.

Kevin joined Ontario Teachers' in 1997 and was most recently Vice-President, Equity Products within the Tactical Asset Allocation and Natural Resource department.  He has over 20 years' experience in investment management. Kevin holds a B.Comm. from Concordia University and is a CFA charterholder.

Steve Saldanha

Steve Saldanha

  • Director, Global Tactical Asset Allocation

Steve Saldanha heads the Global Tactical Asset Allocation team specializing in active public market investments across various asset classes in both emerging and developed countries. He also oversees the quantitative trading team that trades systematically across multiple asset classes and geographies. 

Prior to joining Ontario Teachers' in 2006, Steve was a portfolio manager at TD Asset Management and CT Investment Management, and before that he was an economist at CIBC World Markets, Nesbitt Burns and TD Securities.  Steve is a CFA charterholder and holds a MA in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Danilo Simonelli

  • Director, Alternative Investments

Danilo Simonelli is responsible for Ontario Teachers' hedge funds program. His team manages the allocation to global hedge funds across multiple strategies. Danilo joined Ontario Teachers' in 2005, and was most recently Director, Developed Markets Fixed Income & Currencies. Previously, he worked at JPMorgan in its London office as a member of the debt capital markets origination group. He is a member of the advisory board of the Masters in Financial Economics program at the University of Toronto and a former board member of Cordiant Capital.

Danilo holds a Laurea cum laude in Finance and Economics from Milan's Bocconi University and a Masters in Financial Economics from the University of Toronto. He is a CFA charterholder and has an ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
