2007 Member Survey
The Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF), the Ontario government and the Teachers’ pension plan jointly commissioned a member survey in 2007 to determine:
- awareness of pension plan provisions;
- contribution rate tolerances; and
- preferences for changes in benefits to be earned in future years if required to keep the pension plan healthy.
Telephone interviews were conducted with 2,820 randomly selected working members between April 11 and May 2, 2007. The respondents represented a cross-section of the working membership. Pensioners were not surveyed because changes in contribution or benefit levels would not affect them.
