Nicole Musicco
Vice-President

Nicole Musicco leads the global fund program at Teachers Private Capital. Since joining Teachers in 2002, Nicole has been involved with a number of its direct investments, including the acquisitions of Worldspan Technologies Inc.,  Alliance Laundry Systems, and INC Research. She has also led Teachers’ investments in the following funds: Providence Partners, Ares Partners and Actera.

Prior to joining Teachers', Nicole worked in the investment banking group at Salomon Smith Barney.

Nicole graduated from the HBA and MBA programs at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and from the Bachelor of Science Kinesiology program at the University of Western Ontario.

 

Tanya Carmichael
Portfolio Manager

Tanya Carmichael joined Teachers’ in 2006 and is part of the senior team responsible for fund investing and portfolio management, focusing on North America and Asia. Tanya represents Teachers’ on numerous limited partner advisory committees. From 2007-2011, she was a member of the Institutional Limited Partners Association board of directors and remains very involved on industry matters.

Before joining Teachers’, she spent five years as an executive director in CIBC World Markets’ private equity funds group, as well as several years in legal and compliance roles for CIBC. Tanya completed her articles at Stikeman Elliott law firm in Toronto. She received a BA (Honours) from Queen’s University and an LLB from the University of Western Ontario.

 
Raju Ruparelia
Raju Ruparelia
Portfolio Manager
Raju Ruparelia joined Teachers’ Private Capital in 2008. He was involved in the INC Research, Inc. and EXAL Group investments and is currently an observer on the boards of EXAL Group and Alliance Laundry Systems. Previously, he worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in New York, at Cadillac Fairview (Teachers’ wholly owned real estate subsidiary) and in the corporate finance group at Deloitte & Touche. Raju holds a BA from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
 

Christian Dunn
Senior Investment Associate
Christian Dunn joined Teachers’ Private Capital in 2006. He has been involved in numerous fund investments, including Silver Lake Partners, ARC Energy, MBK Partners, and Unison Capital, as well as select direct and venture capital transactions, including NXP Semiconductors, Avaya, Beceem Communications, Portola Pharmaceuticals, and Newport Media.

Christian earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University.

 

Jennifer Koss
Senior Investment Associate

Jennifer Koss joined Teachers’ in 2008 as a member of the Consumer, Retail & Industrials group. She recently joined the Funds team in 2011. Previously, she worked in management consulting at The Bridgespan Group and The Parthenon Group, focusing on private equity due diligence, and in investment banking at JP Morgan. Jennifer holds a BA (magna cum laude) from Harvard College, a Master of Philosophy degree from Oxford University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

Carolyn Deng
Investment Associate

Carolyn Deng joined Teachers’ Private Capital in 2010. Previously, she was an associate for Mercer’s investment consulting practice and a management consultant at the financial services practice of Oliver Wyman. Carolyn received a B.Comm. (First Class Honours) from McGill University, and is a CFA charterholder.

 

Martin Thiel
Senior Investment Analyst

Martin Thiel joined Teachers' Private Capital in 2012. Previously, he worked in private equity at 3i Group and investment banking at Greenhill & Company in London.

Martin earned a Masters of Arts with Honours in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
