Jane RoweSenior Vice-President, Teachers' Private Capital | As Senior Vice-President of Teachers' Private Capital, Jane Rowe is responsible for strategic portfolio growth and deal stewardship. Her strong background in credit and equity investing was developed during a more than 20-year career at the Scotiabank Group of companies where she held a number of senior roles. Prior to joining Teachers’ in October 2010, she was Executive Vice-President, Special Accounts Management and Retail Credit Risk. Previously, she held senior roles at Scotia Merchant Capital Corporation, the bank's Canadian private equity fund, was President and CEO of RoyNat Capital Inc, Scotiabank's wholly owned mid-market merchant bank, and was President and CEO of Scotia Mortgage Corporation. Jane received an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business, a B.Comm (Hons) from Memorial University, and also has ICD.D certification from the Institute of Corporate Directors. She is a Director of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Sierra Wireless Corporation, an Advisory Board Member of Memorial University’s School of Business, and an International Advisory Board Member of York University’s Schulich School of Business, as well as a member of the board of the YWCA of Toronto. |
Andrew ClaerhoutVice-President | Andrew Claerhout heads the consumer, retail, and industrials group for Teachers' Private Capital and is also responsible for the London office. He joined Teachers' in 2005 from EdgeStone Capital Partners. Previously, Andrew worked at Pacific Equity Partners in Australia and Bain & Company in Canada and in Hong Kong. Andrew has been involved in a number of private equity transactions across various industries while at Teachers’ Private Capital and currently sits on the board of AOT Bedding (Serta), Easton-Bell Sports, EXAL Group, General Nutrition Centers (GNC), Munchkin and Simmons Bedding Company. Andrew received an HBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario, completed the Stanford Executive Program, and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |
Steve FaraoneVice-President | Steve Faraone is responsible for private equity investments in the financial services and healthcare sectors. Since joining Teachers’ in 2002, he has worked on a number of transactions, including the acquisitions of Alliance Laundry Systems, Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company, GCAN Insurance Company and Yellow Pages Group. Steve serves on the boards of Canada Guaranty, NXT Capital and Alliance Laundry. Previously, Steve spent two years with BMO Nesbitt Burns Equity Partners, the private equity arm of the Bank of Montreal and prior to that was with BMO Nesbitt Burns Investment & Corporate Banking division in Vancouver. A CFA charterholder, he received a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours Finance) from the University of British Columbia, has completed the Advanced Executive Program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |
Glen SilvestriVice-President | Glen Silvestri leads the fund’s private equity transactions in the telecom, media, technology and energy services sectors. He joined Teachers’ in 2001 with a background in M&A and finance. Glen has been involved in many significant transactions, including the formation of MidOcean Partners through a management buyout of Deutsche Bank’s private equity portfolio, and the acquisitions of Ames True Temper, CFM Corporation, Doane Pet Care Company and SonicWALL. Glen currently sits on the boards of MLSE, Aquilex Corporation, Flexera Software and Big Brothers and Sisters of Toronto. A Chartered Accountant, Glen earned a BA from the University of Western Ontario and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D). |
Jo TaylorVice-President | Jo Taylor joined Teachers’ in 2012 as head of TPC’s London office, and is Teachers’ senior representative for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He leads the team responsible for sourcing, negotiating and executing investments in these regions.
Jo has extensive experience in the investment industry, including more than 20 years with 3i Group Plc, an international private equity and infrastructure investor, where he was the Head of Venture, Member of Group Management and Investment Committees, and CEO of US Investment Subsidiaries. He is also a non-executive Director at Kainos Software Limited, Standard Life European Private Equity Trust Plc, a fund of funds investor focusing on larger buy-out teams investing in Europe, and Tideway Investments Ltd., a UK wealth management business. Jo holds an MBA from Manchester Business School and a BA (Honours) from London University. |
