Neil Petroff
Group Senior Vice-President, Investments | Neil Petroff is responsible for the management of major asset classes and portfolios including the public equities, private capital, fixed income, infrastructure, tactical asset allocation, foreign exchange, commodities and alternative investment portfolios. He reports directly to the EVP, Investments.
Mr. Petroff joined Teachers’ in 1993 and has been a member of the executive management team for Teachers’ Investment Division for 12 years, most recently as Senior Vice-President, Tactical Asset Allocation and Alternative Investments. His progressively more senior positions have given him broad exposure and management experience in a wide range of asset classes and investment products.
He has 25 years of experience in the financial industry, beginning his career in investing at Bank of Nova Scotia and continuing at Guaranty Trust and Royal Trustco. He holds a BBA and MBA from York University, and serves on several corporate and charitable boards including Maple Partners Bankhaus GmbH, Maple Partners Financial and the Integra Foundation.
Together with former CEO, Claude Lamoureux and EVP, Investments, Bob Bertram, Mr. Petroff was recognized for innovative hedge fund portfolio management when Teachers’ was named Public Pension Fund Investor of the Year by Alternative Investments News in 2007. |

Ronald Mock
Senior Vice-President, Fixed Income and Alternative Investments | As Senior Vice-President, Fixed Income and Alternative Investments, Ron Mock is responsible for Teachers’ fixed income and global hedge fund portfolio.
Mr. Mock joined Teachers’ in 2001 as Director, Alternative Investments, and has more than 20 years international experience in investments and finance. He holds a B.A.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto and an MBA from York University. |

Jason Chang
Vice-President, Fixed Income Capital Management
| Jason Chang’s responsibilities include the fund’s fixed income nominal bond index, money market, real return debt and global liquid yield curve arbitrage portfolios. Since joining Teachers’ in 1995, he has held progressively more senior positions, most recently as Director, Fixed Income.
Mr. Chang holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA charterholder. |

Michael Wissell
Vice-President, Tactical Asset Allocation | Michael Wissell manages the tactical asset allocation portfolios at Teachers’. In addition to executing equities trades, commodities and foreign exchange on behalf of the fund, the department uses quantitative tools and discretionary analysis to build a diversified basket of assets with a global focus.
Mr. Wissell joined Teachers’ in 2002 with more than 15 years capital markets experience and has helped to build the Tactical Asset Allocation program. He was most recently Director, Global Opportunities in this group. He holds a B.Comm. from Carleton University and an MBA from McMaster University, and is a CFA charterholder. |

Stephen Dowd
Senior Vice-President, Infrastructure | Stephen Dowd oversees the global infrastructure and timber portfolio, which includes water, gas and electric utilities, power generation facilities, airports, toll roads, marine container terminals and timberlands. He led a $2.4 billion US transaction to purchase four marine container terminals in North America for this portfolio.
Mr. Dowd joined Teachers’ in January 2006 as Director, Infrastructure with almost 20 years’ international experience in banking and the energy and utilities sectors in North America, Europe and Latin America.
He holds a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from The Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |

Wayne Kozun
Senior Vice-President, Public Equities | Wayne Kozun leads the team that oversees the fund’s actively-managed public equities portfolios, including relationship investing, totalling more than $29 billion. These portfolios are both long only and market neutral and use a variety of absolute return strategies. The group also uses a variety of external managers to give the fund exposure to international equity markets. The equities team also monitors the corporate governance practices of the companies in which Teachers' invests.
Mr. Kozun joined Teachers’ in 1995 and has risen steadily through positions of growing responsibility, most recently as Vice-President, Tactical Asset Allocation. He received a Bachelor of Engineering Science from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business. |

Zev Frishman
Vice-President, Structured Portfolios and External Managers | Zev Frishman oversees external equity managers and internal equity programs, which together account for over $17 billion of the fund's global equity investments. He is also responsible for overlay portfolios for public equities that manage the overall portfolio exposures.
Mr. Frishman joined Teachers' in 1994. He holds an M.Sc. in economics and has completed PhD comprehensive exams in finance. |

Bill Royan
Vice-President, Relationship Investing | Bill Royan joined Teachers' in 2008 as Vice-President, Relationship Investing - a portfolio within the Public Equities group focused on large-scale strategic investments in public companies.
He joined Teachers' from Lehman Brothers in New York, where he held senior roles in its mergers group and its equity strategies unit, Lehman's principal investing arm. Previously, he worked in mergers and acquisitions at J.P. Morgan in New York, and RBC Dominion Securities in Toronto.
Mr. Royan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.Comm. from the University of Calgary.

Erol Uzumeri
Senior Vice-President, Teachers' Private Capital | Erol Uzumeri manages Teachers’ Private Capital, a global portfolio of private equity and venture capital investments with $17 billion in invested and committed capital. Mr. Uzumeri joined Teachers’ in 2003, and prior to assuming his current role, he was responsible for the international private equity business for Teachers’.
Mr. Uzumeri has been involved in a number of acquisitions, including New Zealand Yellow Pages Group, Alexander Forbes, Covalent Materials (Toshiba Ceramics), Idea Cellular, Kabel Deutschland, Grupo Corporativo Ono, and Almatis. He was also involved in the establishment of Park Square Capital, Europe’s largest private mezzanine debt fund, MBK Partners, one of Asia’s largest buyout funds, and Actera Partners, Turkey’s largest private equity fund. He is a director of Almatis and New Zealand Yellow Pages, an observer to the board of Kabel Deutschland, and sits on the advisory boards of a number of leading private equity funds.
Prior to joining Teachers’, Mr. Uzumeri was Vice-President of CVC International in London, England where he evaluated, structured and executed a number of private equity investments. Previously, he worked for Citigroup in London, New York and Toronto and he began his career at Andersen Consulting. He holds a B.A.Sc. (Honours Industrial Engineering) from the University of Toronto and an M.Sc. (Finance) from the London Business School, and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |

Andrew Claerhout
Vice-President | Andrew Claerhout is responsible for the private equity investments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and is also head of Teachers’ Private Capital’s London office. He joined Teachers’ in 2005 and has previously worked at EdgeStone Capital Partners, Pacific Equity Partners and Bain & Company.
Mr. Claerhout has been involved in a number of transactions, including the take-private of South Africa’s Alexander Forbes Limited, the creation of Actera Partners, Turkey's largest indigenous buy-out fund and minority co-investments in Kabel Deutschland, Grupo Corporativo Ono and Valentino Fashion Group.

Shael Dolman
Vice-President | Shael Dolman oversees Teachers’ private equity investments in the business services and diversified industrial sectors. He joined Teachers’ in 1997 with a background in corporate banking.
He has worked on a number of private equity transactions, including the acquisitions of Shoppers Drug Mart Inc., Yellow Pages Group, Worldspan Technologies Inc., Alliance Laundry Systems, Easton-Bell Sports LLC and the refinancing of Parmalat Canada.
Mr. Dolman received a BA from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from McGill University, and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |

Dean Metcalf
Vice-President | Dean Metcalf oversees the portfolio management group for Teachers’ Private Capital. He has held increasingly senior positions since his arrival in 1991. Previously, he worked in commercial and corporate lending, providing acquisition financing for leveraged buyouts.
Mr. Metcalf has been involved in many high-profile acquisitions by Teachers’, including Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., Shoppers Drug Mart Inc., the Yellow Pages Group and Doane Pet Care Company.
Mr. Metcalf received a BA and an MBA from York University and is a certified director as a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. |

Lee Sienna
Vice-President | Lee Sienna manages private equity investments in the consumer sector. He joined Teachers’ as Vice-President in 2002, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in management and corporate development for companies in the beverage, food and entertainment industries, including John Labatt Ltd.
Since joining Teachers’, Mr. Sienna has played a pivotal role in a number of acquisitions including Yellow Pages Group, Samsonite Corp., Alliance Laundry Systems, CFM Corp., National Bedding Co. (Serta), Easton-Bell Sports, LLC and GNC Corporation. He also led the refinancing of Parmalat Canada in 2004.
Mr. Sienna, a Chartered Accountant, is a graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business and a certified director as a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He received an MBA from the University of Toronto. |

Glen Silvestri
Vice-President | Glen Silvestri leads the fund’s private equity transaction activities in the telecom, media and technology sectors. He joined Teachers’ in 2001 with a background in mergers and acquisitions and finance.
Mr. Silvestri has been involved in many significant acquisitions including Ames True Temper, Deutsch Bank’s private equity portfolio, CFM Corporation and Doane Pet Care Company.
