Outstanding service today, Retirement security tomorrow

  Fewer Than Two Years
If you leave teaching before you’ve accumulated at least two qualifying years of service, you may take a cash refund of your contributions, plus interest, 90 days after you cease employment.

Other options you have are:
transfer your contributions plus interest to an RRSP
transfer your credit to another pension plan with which we have a transfer agreement
leave your contributions in the plan if you think you might return to teaching in the future

If you take a refund and later return to teach for at least 70 full-time days in a school year, you may qualify to repay the refund. See repayment of refund for information on deadlines and conditions.

Once you have two qualifying years, contributions made after 1986 are locked in.
