Appointment notice: Bjarne Graven Larsen, Andrew Claerhout, Ziad Hindo, Wayne Kozun, Michael Wissell

Ron Mock, President and CEO, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (Ontario Teachers'), is pleased to announce the appointment of Bjarne Graven Larsen as Executive Vice-President and Chief Investment Officer. 

Mr. Graven Larsen leads the global investment program for Ontario Teachers'.  He is responsible for all aspects of its investment activities, including the real estate portfolio managed by wholly-owned subsidiary, Cadillac Fairview, and Ontario Teachers' international offices in London and Hong Kong. 

Mr. Graven Larsen has more than 25 years of experience in the investment and finance industries. He was most recently Chief Financial Officer at Novo A/S in Copenhagen and is the former Chief Investment Officer and executive board member of Denmark's ATP, that country's largest, and Europe's fourth largest, pension plan.  He holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Aarhus.

Additionally, Mr. Mock is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Claerhout to the expanded role of Senior Vice-President, Infrastructure & Natural Resources; Ziad Hindo to the newly created role of Senior Vice-President, Capital Markets; Wayne Kozun to Senior Vice-President, Public Equities; and Michael Wissell to the newly created role of Senior Vice-President, Portfolio Construction.

The appointees all report to Mr.Graven Larsen, together with Nicole Musicco, Regional Managing Director, Asia Pacific; Jane Rowe, Senior Vice-President, Private Capital; John Sullivan, President and CEO, Cadillac Fairview; Jo Taylor, Regional Managing Director, Europe, Middle East, Africa; and Dan Houle, Vice-President, Investment Operations.

Mr. Claerhout is responsible for overseeing infrastructure acquisitions and asset management globally, along with physical investments in natural resources, and oil and gas assets, farmland and timberlands. Mr. Claerhout joined Ontario Teachers' in 2005 and has since held positions of increasing responsibility in Toronto and London. 

 Mr. Hindo is responsible for the newly created Capital Markets department.  He has oversight for centralized trade execution and the treasury function.  Mr. Hindo joined Ontario Teachers' in 2000 and was most recently Senior Vice-President, Tactical Asset Allocation & Natural Resources. 

Mr. Kozun oversees the Fund's Public Equities portfolios, including internally and externally managed portfolios, and Ontario Teachers' relationship investing team. Mr. Kozun joined Ontario Teachers' in 1995 and was most recently Senior Vice-President, Fixed Income & Alternative Investments.

Mr. Wissell leads the newly created Portfolio Construction Group, which is responsible for the fund wide economic outlook, detailed asset mix and risk budget allocation with the asset classes. Mr. Wissell joined Ontario Teachers' in 2002 and was most recently Senior Vice- President, Public Equities.

With $154.5 billion in net assets as at December 31, 2014, Ontario Teachers' is the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada. An independent organization, it invests the pension fund's assets and administers the pensions of 311,000 active and retired Ontario teachers.
