Eileen Mercier is a management consultant and former senior vice-president and chief financial officer of Abitibi-Price Inc. Her career encompasses 40 years of general management experience in the forest products, financial services, integrated oil and communication industries. She has held senior positions at Gulf Canada Ltd., Canwest Capital Corp. and TD Bank.

From 1995 to 2003, Ms. Mercier ran her own management consulting firm, Finvoy Management Inc., which specialized in financial strategy, restructuring and corporate governance issues.

Ms. Mercier was one of Canada's first female professional directors. She sits on the boards of CGI Group Inc., Intact Financial Corporation, Teekay Shipping Corporation and the University Health Network.

Ms. Mercier was named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence by Women of Influence magazine in 2011 and one of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women by the Womens' Executive Network in 2012.

Ms. Mercier holds an MBA from York University and an MA from the University of Alberta. She is a fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and the Institute of Corporate Directors, and was awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degrees from York University and the Wilfrid Laurier University.

Rod Albert

A lifelong educator, Rod Albert has served as president and general-secretary of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (OSSTF) and as president and member of the executive of the Ontario Teachers' Federation (OTF).

As president of the OTF, Mr. Albert led negotiations with the Ontario government to establish the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as an independent organization in 1990. As an OTF executive member, he was extensively involved with the sponsors' efforts to balance the 2005 funding valuation.

Mr. Albert is a fellow of the OTF, a life member of the OSSTF and is a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Hugh Mackenzie

Hugh Mackenzie has worked as an economist for more than 35 years in the public, non-profit and trade union sectors. He manages an economic consulting firm and is a research associate at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives and the Centre for Urban Studies at the University of Toronto.

Mr. MacKenzie serves on the Ontario Pension Board and investment advisory committee of the Canada Post Pension Plan. He is the former executive director of the Ontario Fair Tax Commission (1991-1994) and has published several papers on education funding and public finance.

Mr. Mackenzie was appointed chair of the board and president of the Atkinson Charitable Foundation in 2010. He holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Western Ontario and an MA (Economics & Public Finance) from the University of Wisconsin (Madison).

Barbara Palk

Barbara Palk has three decades of experience in institutional investment and investment management and is the former president of TD Asset Management Inc. She serves on the board of TD Asset Management USA Funds Inc., is chair of the board of trustees of Queen's University and is a member of its investment committee. She is also a member of the board and of the finance committee of the Perimeter Institute.

Ms. Palk has served on the boards of the Canadian Coalition for Good Governance (for which she chaired the Governance Committee), the Investment Counselling Association of Canada, the Shaw Festival and UNICEF Canada.

Ms. Palk is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute and a CFA charterholder. She earned a BA (Hons) in Economics from Queen's University. In 2004, she received the Ontario Volunteer Award and was named one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women.

He is also past and founding chair of the Small Departments and Agencies Audit Committee, set up by the federal government.

Mr. Smith is a chartered accountant and a graduate of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He holds a B.Comm. (Hons) from the University of Windsor.

Daniel Sullivan

His career spans more than 40 years of capital markets experience, with positions at Merrill Lynch, Royal Securities and Dominion Securities prior to joining National Bank as vice-president, Treasury and Foreign Exchange in 1981.

Mr. Turmel holds a B.Comm. and an MA from Laval University and is a recipient of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal for his contribution to the Canadian investment industry.
